Abstract

As one of the private schools are sufficiently developed in Palembang. Every school, especially elementary Xavier 5 Palembang has to process and makes grade for student who is a measure of absorptive capacity and in subject matter for each subject as well as an indicator for student success. Mobile is a telecom equipment-shaped mobile phone that has several features, namely one with the features of Short Message Service (SMS). Taking advantage of this SMS feature writer takes final project titled "Pembangunan Perangkat Lunak Sistem Informasi Nilai Siswa Berbasis Short Message Service (SMS) pada SD Xaverius 5 Palembang”. The system is built using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as an application design interface and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 as database storage. The final result is the grade information system of students based on Short Message Service (SMS). Where in this system, the values obtained by the students can be delivered via SMS, and parents can also request grade information through this system by sending message to a mobile phone number system with a certain code rule.
