Abstract

The role of family of shizophrenia in preventing relapse are the at as motivators, family caregivers, entertainers which can reduce the relapse rate of patient with schizophrenia. This study aimed to determine the role of family ties with relapse in shcizophrenia Poly Clinic Hospital Ernaldi Bahar Palembang 2015. Population in the researches is all the families of patient who take the medication in schizophrenia patients Poly Clinic Hospital Ernaldi Bahar Palembang 2015. The samples was taken probability sampling with accidental sampling with the total 96 samples. To determine the frequency distribution was used and showed that 67 patient and 29 not. The respondent showing the role of family as good motivators numbered 73 and 23 not, the respondents as good family care givers numbered 68 and poor family care givers 28. To determine the relationship between the variabels used Chi-Square test with confidence α < 0.05. Of the Chi-square test showed association with the role of the family as the driving force of relapse of patient shcizophrenia relaps (p value 0.015 < 0.05 . With the results of this research has been instrumental in the patient's family well, but still there are other causes that lead to relapse of schizophrenia patients and family look for the causes so that patients recover no longer showing signs of relaps.
