Abstract

Background : Primigravida is a mother who is pregnant for the first time. According to WHO in 2015 maternal mortality during childbirth was 102 per 100,000 live births. In Indonesia AKI in 2012 was 359 per 100,000 live births. The maternal mortality rate reported in South Sumatra Province is based on 2015 health profile data, which is 165 per 100,000 live births. Anxiety is an emotional state with the feelings of fear and tension experienced by each individual. Anxiety consists of three levels, including mild anxiety, moderate anxiety, severe anxiety. anxiety that occurs in each individual who can still be controlled. Research Objective: This study aims to describe the anxiety of primigravida trimester III women in facing labor at the Myria Hospital in Palembang City. Method : This type of quantitative analytical survey research uses Cross Sectional research design. The sample consisted of 35 respondents, using the proposive sampling method. Results : The characteristics of the mother's age were mostly in early adulthood as many as 26-34 24 (68.57%), the characteristics of mothers with senior secondary education were 16 (45.71%), and mothers with jobs as housewives were 14 (40 %), the range of maternal anxiety in facing the labor process is mostly on moderate anxiety 20 mothers (57.1%), then mild anxiety 14 (40.0%), severe anxiety 1 (2.9%). Research Objective: This study aims to describe the anxiety of primigravida third trimester mothers in facing labor at the Myria Hospital in Palembang City. Results: The majority of maternal age characteristics were in early adulthood as many as 24 (68.57%), characteristics of mothers with senior secondary education were 16 (45.71%), and mothers with jobs as housewives were 14 (40%), range mother's anxiety in facing the labor process was mostly on moderate anxiety 20 mothers (57.1%), then mild anxiety 14 (40.0%), severe anxiety 1 (2.9%). Suggestion: It is expected to provide information for primigravida patients regarding perceived anxiety. It is expected that nurses provide nursing interventions such as taking a deep breath.
