Abstract

This research presents the results obtained after using a simulation model for estimating the effective capacity and performance in an emergency room (Instalasi Gawat Darurat) of Rumah Sakit Myria Palembang. To achieve this objective the first step was to create a simulation model of the system under study. This model was used to estimate performance of resources and utilities. The values of performance used to predict the effective capacity in system and give information to the hospital’s manager in order to define the minimum number of physical and human resources required to serve this demand, to estimate number of beds required, maximum capacity in system and to make operating procedure. The results obtained by the simulation model are doctor’s utilization 39.41%, waiting area 0.18%, space TPP 13.65%, observation room 14.58%, resusistation room 1.86%, trauma room 11.42%, Patient wait for resources etc. minimum 0.69 minute till 6.39 minutes maximum. Average patients will be wait for resources in a day are 5, with amount queue 0 till 5 patient(s). The result show the performance IGD RS Myria is effective. Capacities of IGD RS Myria with the system of queue M/M/4/39/∞, space capacities await 30, one server in TPP, two bed in trauma space, one bed in resusistasi space and five bed in observation space have effective to serve the incoming patient.
