Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition in which the body cannot use insulin effectively or does not produce enough insulin. Insulin is a hormone that plays a role in controlling blood sugar levels by helping glucose (sugar) enter cells to be used as energy. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic condition characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance or impaired insulin secretion. Type 2 diabetes mellitus often occurs in individuals with a genetic predisposition and environmental factors, including unhealthy diet and physical activity. Objective: Implementing foot exercises using "newspaper media" in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, implementing nursing implementation in clients with metabolic system disorders: Diabetes Mellitus. Methods: This implementation method uses one group and posttest on three clients with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: The implementation of this foot exercise was carried out in accordance with the implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). The results showed that the three respondents experienced a decrease in blood glucose levels from the first to the third day. It will be more effective if it is carried out for several months to achieve more effective results. Recommendation: This application is expected to help patients with diabetes mellitus prevent increases in blood glucose independently.
