Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of emotional exhaustion and ostracism on employee performance in the hospitality industry, involving respondents from Wyndham Opi Hotel Palembang. The research instruments were proven to be valid and reliable, and the descriptive analysis indicated that emotional exhaustion and ostracism were perceived by employees, while their performance remained at a relatively good level. The regression analysis revealed that emotional exhaustion had a significant negative effect on performance, whereas ostracism showed no significant impact. These findings highlight emotional exhaustion as a dominant factor that reduces performance, emphasizing the need for hotel management to focus on workload management, provision of social support, and the creation of a supportive work environment to ensure optimal service quality.
