Abstract

Background: Postoperative pain begins when the patient is transferred to the recovery room and continues until the next evaluation. Pain due to incisions or tissue damage is a common complaint. Acute pain is a sensory or emotional experience associated with actual or functional tissue damage, with sudden or slow onset and ranging from mild to severe intensity, lasting less than three months. Classical musik therapy is a non-pharmacological pain management approach. Classical musik therapy is a non-pharmacological intervention to address the primary nursing problem of acute pain. Objective: To implement nursing interventions in post-operative patients using musik therapy to reduce acute pain. Method: This Final Nursing Paper Report uses a case study design. The sample size for this paper is four patients. The intervention was conducted over three days, from July 2-4, 2025, at Ar-Rasyid Hospital in the post-surgical inpatient ward. Results: After classical musik therapy, the four patients experienced a decrease in pain intensity, from moderate to mild, using a numeric rating scale. Suggestion: Nurses are encouraged to incorporate classical musik therapy as an additional intervention in acute pain nursing. Keywords: Acute pain, Postoperative pain, Classical musik therapy.
