Abstract

Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre in Palembang was a training vessel for workers, especially the city of Palembang in order to realize a workforce capable of mastering a particular type and level of job competence particular to equip themselves in the labor market, and independent businesses as well as the training to improve work productivity. This Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre consists of several facilities, including: training classes and workshops, offices, support buildings such as: cafeteria, clinic, library, cooperatives, sports facility, also instructors and participants dormitory. All these facilities are accommodated in five mass of the building. The development of Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre in Palembang is also the planning of Manpower Palembang City that will collaborate with several private companies in order to realize a qualified training centre with the best facilities, and the adequate capacity so that the training activities there in can take place properly. This Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre also has several benefits, including: being a place for improving the quality of labor, especially the city of Palembang, generating workforce able to compete so it will be able to work in a top companies, as well as staff training for employees of various companies as needed each respectively. The theme which applied to the design of this Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre is' Chain". This theme was taken because of the philosophy of the chain that could describe a bond of unity, cooperation, interaction, and good relationship to be established in a training activity that will be contained in This Work Training and Productivity Integrated Centre. This theme is embodied in the form of a building through a post modern architecture with emphasis on high-tech building.
