Abstract
Background : Hypertension is one of the most common chronic diseases affecting the population and carries a risk of serious complications such as stroke and heart disease. Blood pressure control can be achieved through non-pharmacological methods, one of which is a warm foot soak combined with red ginger, which can help lower blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. Purpose : Knowing the effectiveness of soaking feet in warm water mixed with red ginger on blood pressure in hypertension sufferers. Methods : The implementation of this Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) employed a case study design with a nursing care approach, involving three patients diagnosed with hypertension. The intervention was carried out over a period of three consecutive days, with each session lasting 15 minutes. Data collection utilized a stethoscope, a sphygmomanometer, and a digital thermometer to measure water temperature, with all findings systematically documented on an observation sheet. Results : The Application Of Soaking Feet In Warm Water Mixed With Red Ginger for 15 minutes over three consecutive days, all three respondents experienced a decrease in blood pressure. Respondent I, Mrs. S, a 57-year-old female who has had hypertension for 25 years, had a pre-intervention blood pressure on the first day of 160/70 mmHg and a post-intervention blood pressure on the last day of 130/90 mmHg. Respondent II, Mrs. A, a 58-year-old female who has had hypertension for 20 years, had a pre-intervention blood pressure of 140/80 mmHg and a post-intervention blood pressure of 120/80 mmHg. Respondent III, Mrs. N, a 44-year-old female who has had hypertension for 4 months, had a pre-intervention blood pressure of 150/70 mmHg and a post-intervention blood pressure of 120/60 mmHg Conclusion : There was a decrease in blood pressure before and after the implementation of the EBP (Evidence-Based Practice) intervention. Suggestion : Warm foot soak therapy mixed with red ginger can be performed once daily for 15 minutes to help lower blood pressure. Keywords: Hypertension, Red Ginger, Soak feet in warm water.
