Abstract
Background: Patients who ask for help from the Emergency Room (IGD) are patients who need services with a fast response time. The success of treating patients in the emergency unit is very dependent on the speed of providing help. A fast response time can have an impact on patient survival, treatment success and the level of patient satisfaction. Objective: To analyze the relationship between Nurse Response Time and Patient Satisfaction in Handling Patients in the Emergency Installation. Methods: This research used a quantitative design with a cross sectional approach to 70 respondents using purposive sampling with research instruments using observation sheets and questionnaire. Tested using Kendall’s Tau test. Result: The characteristics of the majority of respondents are female amounting to 40 people (57.1%) with the age between 36-65 years as many as 38 people (54.3%). The majority of high school education amounted to 36 people (51.4%) and jobs as employees/private amounted to 29 people (41.4%). The response time carried out by nurses was at most fast ≤5 minutes amounting to 61 people (87.1%). The majority of satisfaction rates were high as many as 57 people (93.6%). Bivariate analysis shows a p-value of 0.000 meaning p<α and a value of τ coefficient 0.807. Conclusion: There is a relationship between nurse response time and patient satisfaction in handling patients in the Emergency Department. Suggestion: Increasing motivation for nurses to provide services with a fast response time so that patient satisfaction is achieved, in addition to improving resource management so that emergency room staff especially triage can provide maximum response quickly
