Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis Pain in osteoarthritis patients is musculoskeletal pain which is included in the chronic pain group. People who suffer from chronic pain have a high level of anxiety, they tend to feel hopeless and helpless because various drugs cannot relieve pain in osteoarthritis patients. Bone Joint Gymnastics (Sentul) is an osteoporosis prevention exercise developed by the Osteoporosis Study Group FKUI/RSUPN-CM in collaboration with the Indonesian Fitness Gymnastics Association to stimulate the formation of bone mass. Objective: To relieve pain in the elderly musculoceletal at the Werdha Darma Bakti home. Methods: Using a descriptive case study design, a descriptive case study is an attempt to systematically and accurately describe a situation or population area that is actual, by way of interviews observing complaints and then measuring them with a pain scale Results: The results of the first study of client one were 74 years old female, client two was 79 years old female and the third client was female. The results of measuring the pain scale using a Numeric rating scale (NRM) check found theoretically found pain in the knee with a pain scale of 5/N and pain in the joints, on the second client an assessment was carried out and the patient said pain in the joints of the knees and waist and wrists. On the third client, knee pain with a pain scale of 6/N and pain in the joints, and the assessment of the third client found complaints of pain felt by the leg, knee, pain scale of 6/N. Conclusion: Based on the results of the application of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) it can be concluded that osteoporosis exercise is effective in reducing acute pain in the elderly at the Darma Bakti Werda Nursing Home KM 7 Palembang City. This is because the ergonomic gymnastic movements are modified and combined with relaxing yoga instruments and deep breathing relaxation. Suggestion: Suggestions in this study provide more information regarding the application of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) in reducing the musculoceletal pain scale.
