Abstract
Background: Menopause is cessation menstrual cycle phase naturally on every woman and can cause concern because at the time of menopause woman will experience symptoms, both physical symptoms and psychological symptoms. In Indonesia, severe anxiety symptoms during perimenopause by 35.5%. Health education one way of providing information to premenopausal women as an attempt to help premenopausal women to understand, comprehend changes that will probably happen to him when experiencing menopause. Understanding menopause is well expected to reduce anxiety menopause. Objective: To determine the effect of health education using the booklet to the knowledge and reduction of anxiety symptoms premenopausal women. Method: The research design is pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects premenopausal women age 40 to 55 years. The selection of random samples using the technique of multistage sample. Sample size of 100 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Collecting data using questionnaires. Data is processed using a computer program. Wilcoxon test and pair sample t-test was used for statistical analysis with a significance level of 0.05 and a confidence interval of 95%. Result: There are differences in knowledge scores between before compared to after and the difference was statistically significant p <0.005. A decline in anxiety scores after health education compared with before, statistically significant decline. Conclusion: Health education using booklet influence significantly increase knowledge and reduce symptoms of anxiety premenopausal women in Minggir Primary Health Care.
