Abstract
Background :Learning achievement index is the result who achieve by student in all study who be included in the form of value. Learning achievement index can influenced by two factors, there are internal and external factors. One of them related to interest. Interest is a pure likes for something without someone to push you. Aim : This study aims to determine relationship interest to join health univesity with learning achievement index of student semester II in Nursing Study Program Health Faculty of Catholic Musi Charitas University of Palembang. Result : Majority of respondents 44 (77,20%) have high interest to join health university, while as many as respondents 33 (57,90%) have learning achievement index in good category. Kendall Tau test result found there is no relationship interest to join health university with learning achievement index of student semester II in Nursing Science Health Faculty of Catholic Musi Charitas University of Palembang with p-value = 0,366, r = -0,118, it means there’s very low coefficient correlation with negative direction. The higher interest to join health university can make the lower learning achievement index. It means, if high interest without study hard will get low learning achievement index. In conclusion, high interest must be accompanied by high motivation too so that the learning process can be success and learning outcome will get better than before.
