Abstract

Music art is one of the works of art related to sound, tone and voice that can be expressed in the form of a song or instrument which includes harmony and melody, as a form of explanation of the emotional aspect. The art of music in Indonesia has developed since before the 1st century AD, which started from one type of music and until now in Indonesia there are various types of musical arts making the art of music in Indonesia developed more widely to foreign countries. The musical arts activity was given appreciation in the form of awards for music performers. Palembang is a city in Indonesia that also appreciates the art of music by carrying out musical arts activities in the city of Palembang. Appreciation of the art of music in the form of auditions, or musical art performances held in Palembang. Musical arts activities in Palembang have increased the interest of the people in the city of Palembang in the art of music. This activity raises a problem, namely the unavailability of a container that accommodates musical arts activities in Palembang. The design of the Music Arts Training and Performance Center in Palembang is a solution to the problem that accommodates musical arts activities in Palembang. The Center for Music Arts Training and Performance in Palembang will be located on Demang Lebar Daun street, Palembang city. The building is designed to describe the philosophy of musical notation which has several arrangements. The concept explains that the design will consist of three masses that have different functions. The appearance of the building in both the exterior and interior design will be adapted to the concept and add elements of the application of neo-vernacular architecture.
