Abstract

The lack of proper space planning for traders and small and medium enterprises (SME) in Pasar 16 Ilir and stores near Pasar 16 Ilir, the pandemic COVID-19 effect on the global economy has decreased interest in people coming and trading in Pasar 16 Ilir. Pasar 16 Ilir redesign is a solution to replace, rearrange, and expand this building to become a landmark of Palembang city through redevelopment, renovation, and placemaking approach. Sense of place, which is a theme spelled out in the past, present, and future concepts with various new function spaces in Pasar 16 Ilir, by using high technology and made Pasar 16 Ilir sustainable and environmentally friendly building. Pasar 16 Ilir redesign planning is expected to increase the existence of Pasar 16 Ilir as a landmark of Palembang city and create a public space that could be usable for the public and tourists like children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
