Abstract

In this study, it can be seen that the level of competition in the food and beverage sub-sector is very high, therefore this study aims to determine the effect of sales growth and free cash flow on financial distress. The data used is secondary data. The population in this study was obtained using a purposive sampling method on food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2017-2021 period and based on predetermined criteria, a sample of 125 samples was obtained. Hypothesis testing using the SPSS 23 program, this research was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that sales growth has no effect on financial distress but more directly affects the decline in profits and free cash flow affects financial distress because the smaller the remaining cash obtained by the company, financial distress will occur.
