Abstract
To meet the human need for clean water with quality that meets the standards, a processing process is needed first through a clean water treatment building to change the water available in nature to be safe for consumption. Sometimes the raw water that will be processed into clean water at the Rambutan IPA (Water Management Installation) experiences a sudden change in turbidity without being detected by the operator. So that the dosing of Aluminum sulfate for water purification in processing is not optimal. If the turbidity of the raw water received from the intake to the cascada changes suddenly, it could cause a water production leak, such as the result of the water being still cloudy and inappropriate. For this reason, it is necessary to calculate the dose of aluminum sulfate using a formula in order to find out how many doses are used when the turbidity of the raw water changes. In order to avoid leakage of water production, it is very necessary to give an optimal dose of alum in order to produce clean water that meets the requirements. In overcoming the ever-changing raw water turbidity detector, a detection tool is needed, namely Streaming Current Monitor (SCM). Streaming Current Monitor (SCM) which is a raw water turbidity detection tool in water treatment to help determine the optimum flow of Aluminum Sulfate dosage used at that time. The current use of Streaming Current Monitor (SCM) is very effective, simple, modern and fast. And can help operators detect raw water turbidity that is not constant and drastically changes in weather or other factors that affect changes in raw water.
