Abstract

PT Sriwijaya Palm Oil Indonesia is a company that produces palm oil. In increasing productivity, the thing needs to be done is creating a comfortable production area. From a direct survey done in the production area, the condition of the production area at PT Sriwijaya Palm Oil Indonesia is not clean, it is said to be less clean because a lot of fruit from fresh fruit bunches is scattered on the floor and if the fruit is stepped on it will release oil and make the floor slippery. Things to do to make the production area comfortable is by using the fishbone method in finding the root of the problem that occurs, then use 5s method to improve the production area at PT Sriwijaya Palm Oil Indonesia. Through the fishbone method, the root of the problem was found, namely a dirty area and also from the 5s method, it was found that the proposed design of a cleaner work area was found. The proposal on the 5s method is to design a container for holding fresh fruit bunches, making 5s posters, and making a checksheet table for the production area.
