Abstract
THE ROLE OF PARENTS' INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION ON LEARNING MOTIVATION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN PALEMBANG CITY Online learning makes students experience a workload that causes a decrease in children's learning motivation so that Interpersonal communication with parents is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parental Interpersonal communication on the learning motivation of high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Palembang City. The method used is a quantitative research method. The subject of this research focuses on parents who have high school children, with samples drawn as many as 96 respondents with the sampling technique used is incidental sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate the role of parental Interpersonal communication on the learning motivation of high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Palembang City. The result of the coefficient of determination shows a value of 0.667, meaning that the Interpersonal communication variable of parents is able to contribute or play a role in the ups and downs of high school students' learning motivation during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the magnitude of the changes caused by 66.7%.
