Abstract
Audio is one of the digital media that can be used as a delivering message facility because it is easy to use and followed by ease of access. Various kinds of audio files had been created,start from WAV, MP3, WMA, FLAC, MP4 and AMR. This study focused on AMR (Adaptive Multi Rate) audio format. AMR is usually used for recording. In sending messages through audio media and when it gets to the receiver, the information must be kept confidential and maintained its authenticity or unmodified.It is necessary for the cryptographic methods to encrypt and decrypt audio files to maintain the security of the data contained in the audio file. In doing the encryption and decryption, an algorithm is required, this study used the DES algorithm (Data Encryption Standard).DES algorithm is a symmetric algorithm and classified as block cipher type. Prosessing time to encrypt and decrypt this algorithm is relatively fast, due to the efficiency in key generation, the algorithm can be used on the system in real-time. The results obtained from this study was cryptographic system of an amr file audio using the DES algorithm.
