Abstract

Background : Violence against children (Child Abuse) is an act carried out by parents or those closest to them intentionally against children. Violence against children will have an impact on children's growth and development, such as children becoming moody, timid, emotional and difficult to get along with. The low knowledge of parents or those closest to children about violence against children has resulted in a high rate of violence against children. Objective: The description of the knowledge and behavior of parents towards violence in preschool children aged 3-6 years in Kel. 29 Ilir Palembang. Methods : This research is a quantitative research using a descriptive survey method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study, namely parents who have preschool age children, amounted to 59 respondents with a sampling technique using total sampling. The data analysis used is Univariate Results : From the results of the study on the age characteristics of the respondents, it was found that the majority of late adulthood were 30 respondents (50.8%), the gender of the majority were women as many as 55 respondents (93.2%), and the education of the majority was high school education as many as 37 respondents (62 ,7%), respondents who have good knowledge are 56 respondents (94.9%), and the results of the behavior of the most respondents are good as many as 52 respondents (88.1%). Suggestion: Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that respondents in Kel 29 Ilir, Palembang City, it is suggested that respondents maintain good knowledge and increase bad knowledge and increase bad behavior and maintain good behavior by joining the parenting group (group parenting).
