Abstract

Background: Basic nursing learning consists of theory learning and practical learning. The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on the educational aspect, namely the inhibition of learning activities. Learning basic nursing practice when studying online obtained data from level 1 students who said that the learning process for basic nursing practice for theory was carried out online and for direct action to be practiced in the laboratory, students understood better if they immediately tried and practiced it. When practicing offline learning, students say they understand better if they directly practice the actions given by the lecturer. The process of online learning and offline learning will get the final value of learning. Objective: To find out the difference in the final grades of basic nursing learning when studying online and studying offline. Methods: This type of research is quantitative using a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used total sampling, the type of secondary data was 54 samples. The population of students at level 1 and level 2. The data in this study were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. Results: The gender of respondents who participated in online learning and offline learning from 54 samples were mostly female. The age of respondents who take online and offline learning is at most 19 years and 20 years. The final score of respondents who took online learning and offline learning using the Mann Whitney test got a p-value of 0.001. The conclusion is that there is a significant difference between basic nursing learning when learning online and learning offline. Suggestion: The results of this study are expected to add insight or information for students to better understand basic nursing learning methods when studying online and learning offline.
