Abstract
Background : Diarrhea is the discharge of feces that are frequent, soft and shapeless, Transmission can occur by direct contact and usually occurs in an unsanitary environment, the transmission of diarrhea can occur due to bacteria such as E Coli and viruses such as Astrovirus through oral hygiene. try because if you have diarrhea this can cause dehydration and can cause death Aim: To purposed the relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea in the community of RW 05 RT 25, Seberang Ulu 1. Method : The research uses quantitative descriptive with Associative Descriptive research method to 85 families with Total Sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by Fisher Exact Test. Result : Median age 42.95, Min age 23 years and max age 69 years . female as 49 people (57.6%), Elementary school education as many as 35 people (41.2%), work as housewives 43 people (50.6%). Sanitation did not meet the requirements 63 people (73.3%) and 10 people had diarrhea (11.8%) P value = 0.694 0.005 there is no relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea, the value of r = 0.213. Suggestion: It is hoped that the results of this study can be a source of information regarding the relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea.
