Abstract

Background: Nutritional status is one indicator of the health status of pregnant women. Pregnant women need various substances to support the growth and development of the fetus they contain. Until now there are still many pregnant women who experience 3 nutritional problems, especially malnutrition such as Chronic Energy Deficiency and also animea The problem of maternal and fetal death and illness in Indonesia is still a serious problem. The maternal mortality rate is 19,500 to 20,000 people every year. Objective: To know the description of the nutritional status of pregnant women in the first trimester based on the size of the upper arm circumference Methods: This study uses an analytical survey. The population in this study were pregnant women in the first trimester, the sample in the study of pregnant women in the first trimester who measured upper arm circumference at BPS Kertapati Palembang city was 71 data subjects. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling with secondary data collection. Data analyzed in the patient register book in 2020. Results: The age group of 20-35 years was (84.50%). Good nutritional status (87.30%). Conclusion: Subject data between 20-35 years as much as 84.5%. Nutritional status in good category was 87.30%. Suggestion: This research is expected to be information for pregnant women in the first trimester to determine nutritional status which can be seen from the size of the upper arm circumference.
