Abstract
Background:Corona Virus Disease-2019 or COVID-19 is a new type of infectious disease designated by WHO (World Health Organization) as a health emergency. School-age children are a group that is vulnerable to infectious diseases such as Covid-19. The impact that can be caused is pneumonia, sepsis, and death. So parents need to invite children to be able to apply Covid-19 prevention behavior, by preparing knowledge, parenting patterns and in Covid-19 prevention behavior. Purpose:This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and parenting patterns with Covid-19 prevention behavior. Methods: The method used in this research is an Analytical Survey with a Cross Sectional approach. A total of 39 respondents with a sample using total sampling. Collecting data using a questionnaire. The statistical test used was the Kendall Tau test and the Chi-Square test. Results:The results of the univariate analysis showed that the median age of the respondents was 9 years, 21 (53.8%) were male, 11 (28.2%) were in grades 3 and 5 and 30 (76.9%) of the respondents had sufficient knowledge, 13 (33.3%) authoritarian parenting styles, 25 (64.1%) respondents who behaved well towards Covid-19 prevention. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between knowledge and Covid-19 prevention behavior with p value = 0.067 using the Kendall Tau test and there was no significant relationship between parenting and Covid-19 prevention behavior with p value = 0.367 using Chi-Square test. Suggestion : With this Covid-19 pandemic situation, it is hoped that children can increase their knowledge about covid prevention behavior.
