Abstract

Background : Coronavirus Disease 2019 is a type of virus that can be transmitted to everyone through droplets from Covid-19 sufferers. Government Regulation Number 01 of 2021 in Indonesia applies health protocol rules by implementing 5M, namely washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and limiting physical mobilization. The 5M health protocol is an effort to prevent the virus, which is currently designated by the government as a pandemic. Objective : To know the description of 5M implementation during the new normal era for students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Musi Charitas Catholic University. Methods : This type of research uses quantitative with a descriptive survey approach with a total population of 111. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling by taking a sample of 53 respondents. The method of data collection is using a questionnaire Results : The results of this study were the median age of 19 years, (88.7%) female. Implementation of wearing masks (50.9%), implementation of hand washing (52.8%), implementation of social distancing (66%), implementation of avoiding crowds (50.9%), and implementation of limiting physical mobility (35.8%). Suggestion : The results of this study are expected to provide information on the importance of implementing wearing masks, hand washing, and social distancing which is already in good condition in the current new normal era. Furthermore, it is maintained and improved. Keywords : New Normal, Implementasi 5M.
