Abstract
South Sumatera is one of the 11 provinces that experienced a remarkable incident. Papaya (carica papaya), easily found in South Sumatra. In the leaf is known to contain a lot of papain, alkaloids, glycosides, karposite, dextrose, saponins, and cellulose. Some of them serve as larvasida for example papain. Papain is the substances that destroy larval skin proteins. The Saponins’s nature is damaging cell membranes, and alkaloids inhibit the growth of larval digestive system and damaging it as well. The research aims is to find a method of exterminating mosquito and cut the cycle of life of the mosquito through safer method for human health and the environment-friendly. Research methods to true experimental posttest only control group design with a concentration of 1%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%, the juice and stew. The subject amount is up to 1400 dengue mosquitos (Aedes Aegypt) instar III that divided into 5 groups treatment, 1 positive and negative control group, each group of 25 larvae with 4 times repetition withinobservation for 24 hours and 48 hours. random sampling-taking techniques. The data were analyzed using Pearson product moment test Anova followed Poshoc with0.05 significant level. Test results showed there are a different number of death between the juice and boiled papaya leaves when the number of deaths is higher on larvae group with the juice with a concentration of 10% in 6 hours. In Conclusion, the juice of papaya leaves can be used as a natural larvasida with a concentration of 10% for 6 hours. Keywords: the juice papaya, the stew papaya, larvasida, Aedes aegypti instar III
