Abstract

Family support has a major role to hospitalization anxiety levels in preschool children and provide physical and psychological comfort in preschool children. Objective: This study was to determine the relationship of family support with the level of anxiety of hospitalization in preschool children in the Pavilion Clara hospital. Myria Palembang. Research methodology: the type of research is quantitatively used cross sectional method. Samples in this study as many as 42 respondents and used purposive sampling with inclusion criteria. Data processing and data analysis techniques performed by univariate and bivariate statistical tests. Data collection tools in this study using a questionnaire. Result: found children who have family support moderate and greater height that is 11 families (26.2%), while children who have a family support low and very high less that 10 families (23.8%). And research findings more mild anxiety that 17 children (40.5%), compared to severe anxiety as many as 14 children (33.3%), and anxiety were 11 children (26.2%). Results of chi-square statistic test non parametric test Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Conclusion: no family support relationship with the level of anxiety of hospitalization in preschool children with p value 0.024, the results of these studies, expected family must still provide family support, so that children do not experience more severe anxiety while in the hospital.
