Abstract

ABSTRACT In the industry of making sugar from sugar cane raw materials, it is endeavored to extract as much sap as possible from sugar cane so that more sugar production will be produced. However, in the process of making sugar, sugar loss often occurs, one of the processes that is very influential in the amount of milked sap is at the mill station. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the loss of sugar (losess) from the PTPN 7 mill station Cinta Manis District and provide suggestions or ways to reduce the occurrence of sugar loss in pulp based on known factors. To analyze the factors that cause the loss of sugar (losess) from the mill station in the intended use of the fishbone method, namely in terms of machines, materials, methods, man, and environment. After knowing the most dominant cause of the problem is from raw materials, then determine the plan for overcoming the problem in PTPN 7 Cinta Manis District in order to reduce losses and reduce the loss of sugar in the pulp (pol pulp). The results obtained from this study are the factors that cause sugar loss (losses) at the grinding station in PTPN 7 Cinta Manis District can be seen from the sugar cane milling control figures, namely: Preparation Index (PI), Brix Perahan (HPB) , Sugar Milking Results (HPG) and Purity Results Equivalent Comparison (PSHK). From the calculation of sugar cane milling control figures, it is known the value that does not meet the standard range, namely the Preparation Index (PI), where the PI obtained from periods IV to VII respectively amounted to 84.15%, 84.02% , 84.05% and 83.87%.
