Abstract
Antenatal care is required for expectant mothers in determining the health status of the fetus. High rates of maternal and infant mortality is partly due to the low level of knowledge experienced by mothers and the irregular antenatal care examination frequency. The objective of this study was to find out the relationship of knowledge of expectant mothers against the behavior of antenatal care visits in the third trimester at Obstetric Clinic at RK. Charitas Hospital. Analytical Survey method with cross sectional design was taken as the method of the study. Seventy-three respondents were taken as the sample of the study by using accidental sampling technique. The sample in this study were 73, the analyzed using statistical test of Chi Square. The result of the statistical analysis showed that the number of expectant mothers who had good knowledge were 51 or 69.9% mean while, those with good behavior of antenatal care visits were 62 or 84.9%. with the p-value of 0.063 which was higher showed that there was no meaningful relationship between knowledge of expectants mothers on the behavior of antenatal care visits in the third trimester. Expectant mothers are expected to perform antenatal care visits to health care on a regular basis.Furthermore, health cares are also expected to motivate expectant mothers to regularly visit the antenatal care.
