Abstract

Background: LBW problems are caused by a delayed maturation process, because LBWs are too quick to improve births. These problems cause immaturity of the organ system, difficulty getting out of the womb, and changes in physiology that require special care for LBW, one of which is nesting treatment to help the growth process in LBW. Objetive: this study aimed to explore in depth about the experience of nurses in applying nesting to LBW in the Charitas Hospital Palembang Perinatology Room. Method: This study used qualitative method with phenomenological approach, data obtained from in-depth interviews with four participants. Participants were nurses who meet the inclusion criteria. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of Colaizzi. Result: The results of the study obtained eight themes: 1) nurses feelings in applying nesting 2) nesting benefits to LBW, 3) preparation of nurses applying nesting to LBW 4) actions of nurses applying nesting to LBW, 5) nurses actions after applying LBW nesting , 6) nurses to other nurses in applying nesting 7)constraints on nurses applying nesting to LBW, 8) nurses' efforts to overcome obstacles in applying nesting to LBW, 9) hope nurses apply nesting to LBW. Suggestion: For the next researcher, it is expected to be able to continue this research by looking for factors related to nesting implementation in LBW with mixed methods approach.
