Abstract
Aging or growing old is a natural process and sometimes does not look conspicuous, while psychomotor functions (conative) include things related to impulses such as movements, actions, coordination, which results in the elderly becoming less deft One of the body systems that experiencing deterioration is a cognitive or intellectual system that is often called dementia .. Dementia is a memory function disorder that occurs slowly. In Indonesia alone, the prevalence of dementia in the elderly aged 60 years is 5% of the elderly population. This travel has increased to 20% in the elderly 85 years and over. Management of dementia can be done by pharmacology and non-pharmacology. Pharmacological intervention that is given drugs that can improve cognitive function and non-pharmacological interventions include interventions that are included in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT). One of the CRT interventions is alternative therapy which includes art therapy and activity therapy such as brain gym training. Basically brain exercise is a series of simple motion exercises that help optimize the function of all kinds of centers in the human brain. This exercise can facilitate the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain, improve memory and concentration, increase body energy, regulate blood pressure, improve vision, physical balance, and also coordination. So it will help the elderly to reduce existing limitations.
