Abstract
Educational institutions every year continue to strive to improve the quality of education, especially students. Junior High School (SMP) with the hope that graduates can have satisfying potential compared to equal schools, this is done in order to improve the quality of graduates. Because the school wants to choose students who have high achievement levels to support the level of education in the school. Palembang Public Middle School 4 has many students / students who excel in each class, this is what makes it difficult for the school to determine the students who excel to be used as a reference in the future and improve education at the Palembang SMP Negeri 4 school. To support decision making in an organization or company Decision support systems can be produced using several types of methods, one of which is the Weighted Product (WP) method. Weighted Product is a settlement method using multiplication to connect attribute values, where the value must be raised first with the weight of the attribute in question. By using this Weighted Product method, it is expected that the student majors are more effective and efficient. By using a decision support system and database, student data or student majors can be stored in it, so that if there is an error in inputting the value or student data, then the wrong data can be corrected without having to re-input the value or student data.
