Abstract

Palembang Zoo is a recreational area intended for residents in the city of Palembang. This Palembang Zoo accommodates around 9 species of animals with around 30 animals. Palembang Zoo also has security and security posts, as well as facilities for visitors who gather. The Palembang Zoo supports the go green movement, where the Palembang Zoo building itself has its own natural lighting, and uses natural elements in the form of natural rocks, wood, and vegetation. So that it can minimize the heat of the sun entering the building. This building also utilizes the incoming wind, maximizes the wind entering the room with a regulated ventilation system, which is like a cross or straight system. And assisted by windows on the east and west sides to turn the wind into the room. In the animal cage section adheres to the theme of back to nature by way of realizing situations and conditions just like in native animal habitat. Especially for wild animals, fences are made as high as 8 meters so that animals cannot escape out, while in cages animals are not savage, the fence is only 2 meters in order to interact with animals.
