Abstract
Demands for development in all fields are increasingly felt, especially in developing countries, this is done in order to improve the lives of the people. For the sake of the smooth running of a project, management needs to manage the project from the beginning to the end, namely project management. PT Perdana Abadi Perkasa as the executing element for the construction work is in charge of carrying out drainage construction in the Jakabaring area of South Sumatra. This construction project is carried out to control the amount of rainwater discharge that cannot be predicted besides that the road function is not disturbed by the presence of standing water. In the course of its business, PT Perdana Abadi Perkasa has not used the CPM and PERT methods in planning the time and costs needed. In a condition the project owner can want the project to be completed earlier than the original plan or because of external factors such as weather factors, the project has a bad development so that project implementation is not as planned, or it can be said that the project progress is slower. Therefore it is necessary to optimize the duration of the project so that it can be known how long a project is completed and look for the possibility of accelerating the time of project implementation with the PERT (Project Evaluation and Review Technique) and CPM (Critical Path Method) methods.
