Abstract

The college library is a supporting unit for the implementation of higher education goals, namely tri dharma tertiary education which consists of education, research and community empowerment such as the only one at the Musi Charitas Catholic University Library in Palembang. In this library, in the process of purchasing books and journals, they are done manually. With this manual method, there are difficulties in the process of purchasing books and journals that are not only small in number. To simplify the purchasing process, books and journals are purchased automatically with the application of purchasing books and journals. Based on these problems, it is better to use information technology to overcome it, namely the information system for purchasing books and journals where the development of this system uses the development of the waterfall model, the programming language PHP and MySQL as database processing. With the existence of this new system, the making of purchasing applications can facilitate the purchase of books and journals in the library directly. This information system created can facilitate the purchasing department in processing the purchase of books and journals obtained from the submission of students and lecturers.
