Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of scholarly communication and scientific maps (interdisiplinarity) in the journals published by Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University from 2008 to 2012. Given the many areas of science related or linked to a journal in Faculty of Medicine, the research is expected to show the type of science and the extent of the relationship among subjects in each of the journals studied. This study used a qualitative approach with bibliometric analysis based Co-words. This research material comprised of four titles of medical journals published by the Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University from 2008 to 2012 consisting of 496 articles. The results showed that the subject of the trend is the patient, the journal has keywords and reference articles most of the journal's health services management, scholarly communication each journal has evolved, indicated by increasing the subject field of medical science and non-medical science over a period of five years, the subject field of non-medical science such as biotechnology, cultural studies, organic chemistry, extermination hama, counseling psychology, child development, character development, health service management, insurance, health insurance, human resources, leadership, decision making, human rights, management marketing, education, problems in children and youth, health and safety, and knowledge have relevance to the subject field of medical science.
