Abstract
PT Semen Baturaja is a company engaged in manufacturing process. Crusher machine for limestone production process is often damaged because there is only one unit and its age already exceeds its economical age. Until recently, the maintenance being done is corrective maintenance. The company wants to invest in a new machine and the cost of investment per year is the cost of ownership and operation. The total expense to invest in a new crusher machine is Rp 2,105,989,293. Old machine maintenance performed to find the optimal time interval and lowest cost method obtained replacement age length of cycles / time interval preventive (tp) 19.5 hours at a cost of Rp 2,547,407.003 / cycle. The maintenance being done are in the form of replacement or repair depending on the state of crusher machines to prevent further damage or extend the life of the machine's components. The investment cost of maintaining the old crusher machine is Rp 2,263,262,380. The best decision to fulfill the need of machine is to invest by purchasing a new machine because it provides a savings of 6.95% or the annual cost savings of Rp 157,273,087. The cost of capital or the time period of capital recovery for a new crusher machine can be calculated using the CRP (capital recovery period), with the results obtained 17.84 years. Besides that, the other benefits of the new machine includes production target of 7000 tons / day can be achieved, lower down time, the queue at the limestone quarry crusher will be reduced or absent, the production runs smoothly. Likewise, the stock at limestone storage (stockpile) is always available and will not disturb the cement manufacturing process.
