This study aims to determine the influence of work motivation and employee competence on employee performance at advertising companies in Palembang City. The research method used was a quantitative method with descriptive and associative approaches. The sample consisted of 110 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires using a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis using SPSS. The results showed that work motivation and employee competence partially and simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The regression equation obtained was Y = 3.218 + 0.144X1 + 1.187X2. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.883 indicated that 88.3% of employee performance was influenced by work motivation and employee competence, while the remaining percentage was influenced by other variables outside this study.
