Abstract

The journalism profession is characterized by high levels of work-related pressure that may affect journalists' psychological well-being. This study aims to understand and describe the psychological well-being of field journalists based on the meanings they attribute to their lived experiences. This study employed a qualitative method using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. The participants consisted of three field journalists selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the IPA technique. The findings indicate that all three participants demonstrated good psychological well-being. Ryff's six dimensions of psychological well-being autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, purpose in life, positive relations with others, and self-acceptance were identified in all participants, although each interpreted and experienced these dimensions differently. Despite facing various work-related pressures and challenges, the journalists were able to adapt, maintain their personal values, build positive relationships, and perceive their profession as an integral part of their life purpose.
