Abstract

Learning motivation is a crucial factor determining student success in the learning process. Low learning motivation can be influenced by various psychological factors, including self-concept and spiritual intelligence. A positive self-concept can boost students' confidence in their own abilities, while spiritual intelligence helps them find meaning and purpose in their learning activities. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-concept, spiritual intelligence, and learning motivation among high school students. A quantitative research approach with a correlational design was employed. The study population consisted of 68 Grade XI high school students. Probability sampling, specifically simple random sampling, was used as the sampling technique. Data were collected using Likert-scale instruments measuring self-concept, spiritual intelligence, and learning motivation. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product-Moment correlation and multiple correlation analysis with the aid of SPSS software. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between self-concept and learning motivation (r = 0.352; p = 0.003), thereby confirming the first minor hypothesis. Additionally, a significant positive relationship was found between spiritual intelligence and learning motivation (r = 0.274; p = 0.024), confirming the second minor hypothesis. Multiple correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between self-concept and spiritual intelligence combined and learning motivation (R = 0.390; p = 0.005). In conclusion, the more positive a student's self-concept and the higher their spiritual intelligence, the higher their learning motivation
