Abstract

Background : Renal replacement therapy can be performed on CKD patients, one of which is hemodialysis therapy. One of the complaints felt by CKD patients both before and after hemodialysis therapy is fatigue. Fatigue can be caused by anemia, uremia syndrome and stress. Foot massage therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that has the potential to reduce fatigue levels in CKD patients on HD. Purpose : To determine changes in fatigue levels before and after foot massage therapy in CKD patients on HD. Methode : The design in this case study is a type of research with a pre-test post-test case study design. Result : Respondent 1, age 31 years, unemployed, HD duration 6 months, vocational high school education, Respondent 2, age 50 years, high school education, self-employed, HD duration 3 months, respondent 3, age 27 years, high school education, private employee occupation, HD duration 2 years, from the three respondents there was a change in fatigue levels before and after foot massage therapy 3 times for 15 minutes each treatment. From the three respondents, it was found that before foot massage therapy the fatigue value decreased from moderate to mild. Conclusion : There was a decrease in fatigue levels before and after foot massage therapy in CKD patients on HD Suggestion : For HD units, foot massage therapy can be provided to reduce fatigue levels.
