Abstract

Background: Bullying is a social phenomenon that negatively impacts the psychological development of adolescents. Victims of bullying are at risk of experiencing psychological well-being disorders such as low self-confidence, depression, anxiety, and a reduced quality of life. Objective: This study aims to describe the level of psychological well-being of bullying victims in Palembang. Method: This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling, but only respondents who met the criteria for being victims of bullying were included (32 respondents). The research instrument used a psychological well-being questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis to describe the frequency distribution of each dimension of psychological well-being. Results: The study showed that the majority of respondents were in the moderate psychological well-being category (26 respondents (81.3%), low (2 respondents (6.3%), and high (4 respondents (12.5%). Conclusion: The majority of bullying victims in Palembang have moderate psychological well-being, with the greatest challenge being psychosocial acceptance. Recommendation: Students are expected to be more courageous in reporting bullying they experience or witness to their schools. Furthermore, schools and educational institutions are expected to improve their education, supervision, and bullying prevention programs to support students' psychological well-being and serve as a reference for further research with a broader sample size.
