Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) remain serious challenges in Indonesia and globally. WHO reported 260,000 maternal deaths globally in 2023, while in Indonesia the MMR was recorded at 230 per 100,000 live births in 2022. In South Sumatra Province, the MMR increased from 105 cases in 2019 to 128 in 2020, and 131 in 2021. In Palembang City, maternal mortality cases decreased from 120. One of the efforts to prevent maternal and infant mortality is the implementation of continuous midwifery care or COC. This final project report aims to describe the implementation of COC midwifery care for Mrs. "A" comprehensively from pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum, to neonates. It employed the SOAP midwifery management approach and Charitas spiritual values. The method used was a case study with primary and secondary data collection. The results demonstrate that the age as a risk factor during gestational age, normal delivery, a male newborn, a birth weight of 3.300 grams, a body length of 48 cm, and physiological postpartum. In conclusion, COC midwifery care effectively improves the quality of care and the safety of mothers and babies. This recommendation may be used as a reference for improving the quality of service in providing continuous COC midwifery care to pregnant women, laboring mothers, newborns, and neonates.
