Abstract

The development of information technology plays an important role in improving operational effectiveness across various sectors, including livestock farming. At CV Hosana Sukamakmur, daily cage recording—covering chicken population, feed consumption, mortality, and egg production—is still performed manually using paper-based notes. This method leads to several issues, such as the risk of data being lost or damaged due to humid barn conditions, inconsistent handwriting that causes misinterpretation, and a high potential for errors during recalculation. In addition, the report recap process requires considerable time because the admin must collect and compile scattered handwritten records. These conditions make it difficult for management to obtain fast, accurate, and ready-to-use data for decision-making. To address these problems, a web-based daily cage recording application was designed to support data entry, storage, and presentation in a more structured and efficient manner. The system design adopts the Waterfall method, which includes the stages of communication, planning, modeling, construction, and deployment. The design phase produced several system artifacts such as the Data Flow Diagram (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), main process flowcharts, and user interface mockups. The system is designed so that administrators can manage master data and reports, while barn workers are responsible only for inputting daily data according to their access rights. Through the design of this application, the daily recording process is expected to become faster, more accurate, easily accessible, and capable of supporting management in monitoring chicken development and improving the operational effectiveness of the company.
