Abstract
PT Putra Balkom Jaya is a cement distribution company that relies on customer transaction data as a basis for business decision-making. In the administrative process, customer grouping is not yet supported by a dedicated system, resulting in categories being determined generally and without measurable criteria. This condition makes it difficult for the company to identify customers with the highest purchasing contributions as well as those who require closer attention. Based on these issues, this internship project proposes the design of a web-based customer classification system to support a more structured and objective administrative process. The system is designed to be used by internal staff, particularly the administrative and management teams, to view customer classification results based on their purchasing data. The system design was developed using the Waterfall methodology and resulted in several design components, including the Data Flow Diagram, Entity Relationship Diagram, classification flowchart, and user interface prototypes as the initial representation of the proposed solution. This design is expected to provide the company with a clearer understanding of customer purchasing patterns and serve as a foundation for developing a more comprehensive classification system to support marketing strategies and customer performance evaluation.
