Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective e-comic learning media for the Sriwijaya Kingdom heritage material to increase the learning interest of 4th-grade students at SD Xaverius 1 Jambi. This research is based on the low interest of students in learning history material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The research subjects involved 3 students (one-on-one), 6 students (small group), and 32 students (field test). Data was collected thru interviews, tests, and questionnaires. Based on the research findings and discussion, the following conclusions were drawn: according to expert validation, this e-comic media was deemed highly suitable for use, as evidenced by high suitability percentages in the media (92.5%), content/questions (90.83%), and language (91.6%) aspects. Furthermore, field testing showed that the media's practicality level reached 83.36% (practical category) and its effectiveness level reached 85% (very effective category) in increasing learning interest. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-comic media developed has been proven valid, practical, and effective in increasing the learning interest of fourth-grade students at SD Xaverius 1 Jambi toward history material.
