Abstract
Background: Hypertension is diagnosed when blood pressure is consistently >130 mmHg and/or >80 mmHg, which is characterized by an increase in blood pressure of more than 140/100 mmHg. Hypertension sufferers can be given and trained in non-pharmacological therapy, namely autogenic relaxation therapy, to prevent increased blood pressure and the risk of complications. Objective: Providing evidence-based nursing care or EBPN; “Application of autogenic relaxation therapy in hypertensive patients” Methods:. Descriptive in the form of a case study with a nursing care approach carried out on June 5-7, 2025. Implementation was carried out on patients with Grade I and II Hypertension, 2 x 10 minutes (morning and afternoon), for 3 consecutive days, in accordance with the SOP. Results: Respondent I experienced a decrease in average blood pressure on the third day, decreasing by: (Systole 10 mmHg and Diastole 10 mmHg); Respondent II (Systole 14 mmHg and Diastole 7 mmHg); Respondent III (Systole 8 mmHg and diastole 10 mmHg). Conclusion:. The implementation of autogenic relaxation therapy can reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Suggestion: Hypertension sufferers can apply autogenic relaxation therapy by modifying a calm and comfortable environment and remaining compliant with control medication as recommended by the doctor.
