Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of financial performance and board composition on financial distress in property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. The data used are secondary data. The population in this study are property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling method and obtained 56 companies with a total of 280 samples. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that profitability has a positive effect on financial distress. Liquidity has a positive effect on financial distress. Leverage has a negative effect on financial distress. The board of commissioners has no effect on financial distress. The board of directors has no effect on financial distress.
