Abstract

Background: Stroke is one of the severe neurological disorders, this stroke attack is an acute attack that can cause death or disability both physically and mentally (Hutagalung, 2019, p. 1). Muscle weakness is one of the most common clinical signs experienced by stroke sufferers. To prevent permanent disability in stroke sufferers, one therapy that can be done is to train muscle strength by providing serrated rubber ball grip therapy. Purpose: To implement Nursing Care for patients with neurological system disorders: Stroke in the stroke ward of Charitas Hospitals Palembang. Method: Case study of 3 stroke respondents who experienced decreased upper limb muscle strength, respondents were given serrated rubber ball grip therapy for 3 days with a frequency of exercise 2 times a day with a duration of 15 minutes. Results: After carrying out the serrated rubber ball grip exercise for 3 days with a frequency of exercise 2 times a day for 15 minutes, the results of respondent I pre muscle strength were on a scale of 4 and post therapy were on a scale of 4, respondent II pre was on a scale of 3 and post was on a scale of 4 and respondent III pre was on a scale of 0 and post was on a scale of 3. Conclusion: Of the 3 respondents in this case study, 2 respondents experienced an increase in muscle strength and 1 respondent did not experience an increase in muscle strength.
